2012 LLP grundtvig project about disability

We are Turkey, Romania and Spain. Our project is about group activities to promote self-reliance of disabled individuals (especially mental disabled) and educating their families. We need more partners from other countries. DESCRIPTION

We are from Turkey,Kastamonu,Abana.It is a district on the coast of Black Sea.And I’m a staff at project department of Abana District Directorate of National Education.Our organization is a governmental organization responsible for coordinating all educational and training activities in primary school, general secondary school and adult education centre and Counseling&Research Centre in Abana district.There is also Re&De unit of which staff guiding the teachers and students for both EU projects and National projects.

And there is a special school for mentally disabled people and it has about 150 students.Most of these students have never seen the real life before coming this school and only lived in their own homes,villages and some of them didn’t see anybody except their families or relatives.But now they know a lot of things and go on learning.So we want them, their parents and teachers to see other cultures, other disabled people and education methods. This school teaches and trains through arts,craftworks,role-plays etc. We want to examine the application of different countries about group activities to promote self-reliance of disabled individuals. Currently, we have a grundtvig project which is to be completed  about disabled people, their parents and education methods.

Some examples of activities:

• Partner meetings and seminars between all institutions involved in the Partnership

• Exchanges of experience and good practice, by all appropriate means and in particular using information and communication technology (e.g. websites, e-mail, video-conferencing)

• Sightseeing schools and Comparing methods of training

• Making of technical objects, drawings and arts objects related to the project

• Co-operation with other projects in related subject areas (in particular Partnerships, projects

• Educating families of individuals with disabilities

• Dissemination of project experience and outcomes
