Dear Potential Partners,

Our school is experienced in EU Education Programmes. We participated in LDV,Grundtvig and Comenius Programmes. As you know EU council has begun a new Project title “Leonardo Partnership” ,so:

We are planning to apply for a Leonardo Partnership Project under Life Long  Learning Programme 2011-2013.

The Project is about  Diversity in responsive approach to the    changing skill and competence requirements of the working life.”.

This Project is open to EU member countries and all programme countries.

The Project will last 2 years. The Project budget changes for every country. You can apply for the grant rates from the Leonardo Partnership Application Form Annex.

If you are working in a vocational and technical schools which send their pupils to companies and enterprises for workshop experience in school time period or in summer time period and if you want to take part in this Project as partner, please get in contact with the Project coordinator Mr.Nazmi EKER using the email address nazmieker@mynet.com or personal phone number 00905057276027. We tried to summarize the broad aims as follow:

Project Aims:

The aim of the partnership is to raise awareness of changing skill requirements of the working life among vocational schools / institutes and to analyse the responsive approaches between partner schools .This will produce recommendations of good practices to partners to use the tools which will be developed as the project outcomes, through their cirriculum in VET where available.Within this broad aim the partnership will achieve the following concrete objectives:

*to provide a broad knowledge and skills base relevant to working life, highlighting at the same time excellence at all levels

*to assess the relative impacts of investing in different levels of skills and competences through policies and practices

*to increase the intermediary and technical skills to overcome skills shortages and to help sustain innovation and the growth of the knowledge society.

*to contribute to competitiveness and in enhancing social cohesion.

*to provide good ways to European citizens with the skills, knowledge and competences needed in the labour market and knowledge based society.

*to promote high quality initial VET by showing creatable conditions to improve the skills of those in the labour force through continuing VET

*to develop reformist policies to engage all young people in vocational training to ensure at the same time that they acquire skills and competences relevant to the labour market and to their future live

*to prepare pupils to a VET pathway to provide pupils  with the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes necessary for further learning, entrepreneurship and employability.

*to develop policies to reduce drop-out rates from VET and to better facilitate school-to-work transition

*to develop a shared understanding and interdependence among participating institutions and tutors in particular

*to develop awareness of international development among schools in VET.

*to  show good practises to educators and tutors to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of international development

*to share best practices between participating institutions

Project Outcomes:

* Curriculum materials with the Combining Education embedded available on CD and for downloading via the internet

* Handbook on Combining Education for VET teachers available on CD and for downloading via the internet
