New Horizons Foundation – organization from Romania – is looking for a volunteer from Lithuania for already approved EVS project “Active Citizenship through Outdoor Education”.

Dates of the Service: 1st of June – 1st of October

Place: Straja mountain resort, Lupeni, Romania

Context of the EVS project: Outdoor education camp “VIATA”

We are looking for an EVS volunteer from Lithuania. Deadline for application - 10th of May, 2012

The profile of volunteer we are looking for is as follows:

· age between 18 and 30 years old and residents of the Program Countries or Partner Countries

· willing to spend 4 months in a mountain region of Romania and be actively involved in the activities of the project

· motivated to learn about active citizenship; motivation to develop themselves as well as others as active and caring citizens that are empowered to involve of the life of their community

· open-minded and willingness to discover other cultures

· willing to work with young people

· interested and/or motivated to learn about outdoor education as a tool in work with young people

· motivated to develop personal skills, abilities and attitudes like communication, working in team, conflict management, negotiation and decision making, perseverance, etc.

· basic knowledge of English would be welcomed

Main tasks of the volunteer will be:

In June – get to know the host organization, participate in the meetings of local youth “IMPACT” clubs; participate in the language lessons (2 times per week; develop personal learning plan together with the mentor; participate in the training and teambuilding program about methods and tools used in the “VIATA” camp (Experiential Learning Cycle, low&high ropes course, rock climbing, orienteering with map and compass, ecology lessons, arts&crafts workshop, etc.)
July and August - actively participate in the everyday activities of “VIATA” camp; facilitate everyday activities for the camp participants (12-18 years old) together with Romanian and American camp facilitators (energizers, get to know each other games, low&high ropes course, rock climbing workshop, orienteering with map and compass, ecology lessons, hiking in the mountain area, arts&crafts workshop, artistic evening programs, etc); develop evening program for camp participants for one of the evenings of the camp week consisting of traditional games and/or dances; develop documental material about the EVS project; prepare presentation about the EVS program and Active Citizenship which will be presented to local youth IMPACT club members; have the best time of your life:)
September – finalize the documentation material and presentation about EVS project and Active Citizenship; organize presentation about EVS program and Active Citizenship to at least 5 local IMPACT clubs (~100 youngsters); evaluate project learning outcomes and prepare information for Youthpass certificate (together with the mentor); participate in the project evaluation meeting with the project coordinator and other people involved in the project

Call for participants-approved TC on personal development in Switzerland

ONLY FOR PARTICIPANTS FROM THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Spain, Switzerland

We are looking for participants from the above mentioned countries for an approved training course on personal development.

The TC takes place in Switzerland, in a beautiful place in Solothurn region, 29.4. – 4.5.2012.

It aims mainly at youth workers and people who wish to develop their personal leadership, plan their next steps, and devote couple days for themselves.

Methodology

A non-formal, interactive and self-directed approach to explore the participants’ needs and develop skills for self-empowerment, ownership of their life and dealing with challenging situations as well as foster their coaching skills to support young people dealing with change in their environment.

The program involves indoor and outdoor activities, discussions, group processes and individual work. The language of the TC is English.

Accommodation and food during the training course will be provided by the organizers. 70% of the travel costs of the participants – minus a participation fee of 40 Euros – will be refunded after the training course.

Dear Potential Partner,

Our association is going to apply for Grundtvig Volunteering Project. We need a partner from European Countries.

About the project:

Projects support partnerships and exchanges of senior volunteers between local organisations located in two countries participating in the EU’s Lifelong Learning Programme. Each organisation sends and hosts up to six volunteers during a two-year project. Volunteers, who should be aged 50 and over, will usually spend from three to eight weeks abroad working for projects in fields including social protection, the environment, sport and culture.

Topic of the project:

Mobility of Seniors should be easy !

As you know mostly youths have a chance of going abroad, for study, internship, volunteering.

When it comes to seniors, they often hesitate to go in these type of activity.

Our projects will be about promoting the mobility of seniors via volunteering activities, such as protecting cultur and nature, cultural heritages, languages, tratitions.

EVS project in Romania – animation in a local hospital

The Cluj-Napoca Volunteer Centre is searching for 4 EVS volunteers for a 9 months project that should take place in Cluj, Romania between september 2012 – may 2013.

The volunteers will be working in the local Children’s hospital building a clinic animation program….what does that mean more specific?The volunteers will not substitute the medical staff or be involved in activities that are similar to the medical attention given by doctors or nurses, but will bring something new to what a hospital offers in Romania, that is a series of educational and artistic activities such as: storytelling, English lessons (using the methods specific to the non-formal education), planning different games according to the level of mobility of the patients, organizing musical and drawing activities, learning and practicing the art of origami, face painting, puppet theatre etc.

The project proposal will be sent to the romanian National Agency on the 1^st of may deadline. More details about the project you can find in the call for volunteers attached to this email.

2012 GapGenc Festival will be held in Siirt on 04th – 07th, May 2012. The deadline 15th of

March 2012 for national and international activity holders…

GapGenc Festival is organised by Youth and Culture Centres running activities in framework of GAP

Regional Development Region in cooperation with 30 youth organisations.

Festival is the next-in-turn event after similar ones and in 2012 festival theme is “Global

Citizenship”.

The festival will contain social, cultural and art activities such as Youth Forums, Concerts,

Performances (dance, theatre, movies, rhythm etc…), Workshops (social rights, volunteering, youth

participation, personal development, photography, drawing, sculpture etc…) and Organisation Fair

where youth organizations will hold information desk.

The application will be open until 15th of March 2012 for people willing to organise workshops, cultural

& artistic performance and to take part in Organisation Fair within GapGenc Festival.
